The History of Medical Exercise Specialists:
Dr. Michael K. Jones founded the AAHFRP in 1992 to address the need to “bridge the gap between health care and fitness by providing a forum to educate fitness professional to work cooperatively with the medical community in developing safe and effective fitness programs for special populations and post-rehab clients”. The AAHFRP developed the Medical Exercise Specialist training and certification program in conjunction with licensed medical professionals who recognized the need for supportive fitness training for those individuals with special medical considerations. The AAHFRP has played an integral role in certifying health professionals in the provision of post-rehab and medical exercise to clients with a wide array of medical conditions worldwide, including Canada, the United States, Australia, England, Burma, Bermuda, Ireland and Germany.

• Diploma of Remedial Massage, Health Schools Australia
• Personal Trainer Certification, Fitlink, Australia
• Pre & Postnatal Fitness Specialist (PPFS), Fit4Two™ Certified
Jillian delivers training programs that are based on the foundation of improving function. She applies her expertise as a Massage Therapist when required to assist your tissue response during exercise and delivers corrective and progressive training programs to guarantee your success in your health initiatives.
When this Australian is not practicing yoga or exploring Vancouver, she is having fun training clients and encouraging others to see the benefits that living a healthy, balanced lifestyle creates. Jillian is passionate about health and wellbeing and firmly believes the benefits of exercise far outweigh the hard work (she also believes the hardest part of exercise is putting on your shoes and turning off the tv!). She loves nothing more than making exercise a fun part of the day and always finds that time flies during her training sessions. Her main passion is encouraging you to see exercise as a part of daily life and training with her will teach you various ways to fit in exercise around any schedule (single leg balances at the traffic lights anyone?). She firmly believes that exercise should be easily integrated into daily life.
